Where Broad Thinkers Thrive

In our work, we collaborate to articulate social, cultural, and historical practices through design. Our small, focused team is as diverse as our projects, shifting to accommodate and capitalize on each other’s strengths. If you’re a self-sufficient person, able to collaborate as well as lead, you’ll fit right in.

Cristien Murphy

Cristien Murphy

B.EDS, M. Arch, Intern Architect AIBC

Cristien studied architecture at Dalhousie University and is in the process of registering as an intern architect. Growing up in Vancouver and spending summers at his family’s 1970’s modernist wood cabin, shaped his passion for the urban built environment, coastal wilderness of BC, and instilling architecture with a unique sense of place. An ongoing interest in emerging building technologies such as mass timber construction informs Cristien’s approach to sustainable design. Building on the ideas of his Masters’ thesis, he explores the connection between the micro and macro aspects of architecture and how different construction methods and techniques impact a building’s life span, maintenance and adaptability to user’s needs.
